Background
- Identified that job seekers often apply indiscriminately without knowing their strengths or best-fit roles, and face cost and accessibility barriers to 1:1 career mentoring.
- Planned and developed at CHALLKATHON (joint hackathon by HUFS CS Dept × UMC). An environment requiring rapid planning and implementation within a constrained timeframe.
Execution
Planning & Frontend Development
- Planned a service structure where AI proposes personalized career roadmaps and job strategies based on user-inputted experience, competencies, and interests.
- Designed a conversational interface with an AI mentor so the guidance reads as a natural mentoring conversation instead of a rigid analytical report.
- Quickly prioritized planning, design, and development within hackathon time constraints and led the overall team direction.
Results
- Shipped a working AI career mentoring service within the hackathon period. (CHALLKATHON)
What I learned
- Hours before the deadline we had to choose: add features or polish what exists. We deleted the wishlist and polished one core flow to the end — that became the finish quality.
